Wounded Warrior Project Presents: Capture the Flag 2023

Player 2 has the distinct honor and privilege of working with Wounded Warrior Project on their upcoming campaign, Capture The Flag. This unique, competitive event that started in 2021 has brought together creators that support military veterans and warriors from all branches of the armed forces in a united effort to help empower, engage, and employ America’s injured veterans in our community.

For the injured veterans that return home after their service has ended, adjustment to civilian life can be a challenge met with struggle and hardship. These wounds, both visible and invisible, can lead to mental health trials that take a toll on our veterans. Nearly seventy-six percent of veterans reported living with invisible, mental health wounds such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression. Thanks to the efforts of fundraising through streaming by creators and warriors alike, WWP is able to provide the services needed for veterans, making a significant impact in their life.

WWP provides programs and support for wounded veterans that focuses on connection, independence, mental and physical wellness, and financial wellness to help build resilience, coping skills, and peer connection. Among many of these programs, they include employment assistance through the “Warriors to Work” program, caretaker training for injured warriors, and assistance with filing of VA documents and claims.

Capture The Flag, held Memorial Day weekend (May 26) through Flag Day (June 14), is a campaign hosted by the Stream To Serve program to benefit the injured veterans that WWP serves and provides a place for creators and warriors to come together and share their passion for gaming. During the course of the campaign, WWP will host livestreams from their official Twitch channel about mental health, employment services, and physical wellness with a multitude of guest speakers in their prospective industry. Additionally, for a first in Capture The Flag history, WWP is hosting a tournament across three weeks with three different games in support of the Capture The Flag event being APEX Legends, Fortnite, and Fall Guys.

Registration is now open for interested creators to sign up and join the collective effort to ensure all warriors receive the assistance they need, for the greatest casualty is being forgotten.
