VTubers, Panda Global and Others Accept BCRF’s Challenge to Raise Lifesaving Funds for Research with Paint Gaming Pink! this Breast Cancer Awareness Month

New York, NY–27 September 2022 – Creators, brands and esports organizations across the gaming space will activate this October to raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) and help fund lifesaving breast cancer research as part of a new "Paint Gaming Pink!" challenge. Whether it’s through charity streams, limited-edition merchandise or digital cosmetics, gamers will find it impossible to miss opportunities to support BCRF throughout the month.

BCRF is the largest private funder of breast cancer research—and metastatic breast cancer research—in the U.S. and has a deep history of innovative leadership in the gaming space. BCRF has not only partnered on exclusive character skins with Activision-Blizzard (Overwatch’s Pink Mercy) and Capcom (Street Fighter V's Ryu and Chun-Li), but has been the breast cancer nonprofit of choice for major esports teams and thousands of streamers, large and small.

Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in the world. Every 14 seconds, somewhere in the world, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. Every gamer likely knows someone who has already been impacted—or will be in the future.

“BCRF has been inspired by the gaming community’s commitment to raising funds for research,” said Lisa De Luca, Managing Director of Corporate Development at BCRF. “We’re excited to bring together our existing partners and invite new supporters to join us this October.”

“Player 2 is honored to continue working with BCRF in their mission to end breast cancer,” said John Pierce, Partner and Managing Director of Player 2. “The gaming community is full of generous and passionate individuals, and we want to uplift them with Paint Gaming Pink! this October.”

Major brands, esports organizations, and creator collectives are going above and beyond to help fundraise for research. Our partners this year include returning supporters DarkZero, Panda Global, and HyperX, and several new ones have joined such as Chess.com, Logitech for Creators & #BlueMicrophones, Luminosity, Stream Raiders and VShojo!

"We're passionate about the future, that's why we're investing in VTubers and what they bring to the creator industry," said Tomathin, VShojo's Business Development Manager. "We look to invest in the future through collaborative partnerships with highly impactful nonprofits like BCRF that are researching and looking to solve problems. BCRF research has fueled game-changing advancements and we're proud to help Paint Gaming Pink! to help further their progress."
